Step inside Sankeys Ibiza and you’ll feel like you’ve walked into the infamous Manchester club itself. Well.. sort of. Whilst Sankeys Ibiza is run by the same team as back in the UK, the beach shoes and shorts give an indication that there is a somewhat more Meditteranean than sweaty basement feel in here. The room names will be familiar though – the club is split between the Basement (the main room), Boutique, Spektrum, and of course an outdoor Terrace.
Sankeys Ibiza has done a great job of fitting into the small club niche on an island dominated by sprawling superclubs. At the same time, it has still been able to maintain its reputation of bringing in class acts. Butch and Ferry Corsten were firm favourites at the club throughout the 2011 season, as its Full on Ferry, Monza, Carnival and Kinky Malinki nights were all received with great praise.
Having survived its first season in 2011, we expect Sankeys to come back bigger and better this year. And don’t be surprised if there are a few surprises thrown in too…
